Nancy Ford lives in Colorado where she is actively working as an artist, educator, researcher, and writer. Originally from New Jersey, her interest in textile techniques developed at an early age. As an undergraduate, she studied fiber art with Sheila Fox at Kean University and was selected to participate in a workshop on large-scale sculptures taught by Francoise Grossen. Ford completed her certification in ladies tailoring from the Fashion Institute of Technology and worked for several textile firms in New York City.

After completing her master’s degree at Colorado State University in design and merchandising, Ford continued her graduate studies at University of Wyoming focusing on marketing and research of textiles and apparel. Dr. Ford taught fiber arts, including weaving, over a five-year period at Front Range Community College on the Larimer and Boulder campuses and is currently teaching fiber arts classes at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities in Arvada, Colorado.

In addition to creating art, Dr. Ford has designed and conducted marketing research studies for textile and apparel companies through her firm, Ford Research Group LLC. She is presently writing Weaving Through History: Handcrafts Through History for Greenwood Press.
